Leonart Hotel
A 3-star hotel set in a restored 1801 building in the Basmanny district of Moscow, close to the metro and historic center.
Opened in 2016 in a fully restored 1801 building, the Leonart Hotel is a 3-star establishment with 33 rooms located in Moscow's Basmanny district. Just steps from the Tea Museum and a metro station, it offers a practical urban base for exploring the historic center.
Why choose Leonart Hotel
- A historic 1801 building, renovated in 2016, on a human scale (3 floors, 33 rooms)
- A location in the Basmanny neighborhood, within walking distance of the metro
- Free secured parking, a rarity in central Moscow
- Discreet VIP entrance and exit, convenient for late arrivals
- Soundproofed rooms with blackout curtains, useful in summer when nights are short
Atmosphere and building
The Leonart occupies a building dating from 1801, directly adjacent to the Tea Museum. The 2016 renovation preserved the original scale—three floors, no elevator—giving the hotel the feel of an urban residence rather than a standardized establishment. Staff will carry your luggage, and luggage storage is available if you arrive before check-in or depart late.
Reception operates 24/7, wifi is complimentary throughout the building, and the VIP entrance allows discreet access for guests who prefer it.
The rooms
Room categories are organized by size and exposure:
- Single (18 m²): single bed, city views, suited for solo travelers
- Double Standard (19 m²): double bed or twin beds
- Double Comfort (20 m²): double bed, designed for couples
- Double Superior (23 m²): queen bed or twin beds, overlooking the hotel garden
- Simple Suite (40 m²): queen bed and sofa bed
- Junior and Standard Suites: the hotel's most spacious accommodations
- Apartments (47 m²): queen bed and sofa bed, ideal for extended stays or families
All rooms are air-conditioned, heated with individual controls, soundproofed and equipped with blackout curtains. Each includes a work desk, television, telephone, mini-refrigerator and complimentary mineral water. Bathrooms are supplied with free toiletries.
Dining and services
The hotel restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. A bar allows you to extend your evening without leaving the property, and breakfast can be served in your room. Daily housekeeping and 24-hour room service are provided.
On the practical side: laundry and dry cleaning—useful before a Bolshoi evening—a small gift shop in the lobby, and a children's play area.
Location: the Basmanny district
Basmanny is a central neighborhood, east of the Kremlin, blending 19th-century buildings, converted workshops and word-of-mouth dining addresses. Less touristy than Tverskaya, it remains well served by metro, making journeys to Red Square or Saint Basil's Cathedral quick—expect around twenty minutes on foot depending on your pace, or just a few metro stops.
